Conscious Consumption Weaving Workshop with Lucy Poskitt January 30
Conscious Consumption Weaving Workshop with Lucy Poskitt January 30
Does the over-consumption and resulting waste of the holidays (society in general) get you down? Well, it sure did for Lucy Poskitt! So she teamed up with LululemonLab in Vancouver to collaborate on a conscious consumption weaving workshop, featuring textile cut-offs from their production and design lab that will make into yarn and turn into something new!
Lucky for us, Lucy is bringing the idea over to Victoria on January 30th! YIKES I AM EXCITED...
This class is for anyone: the absolute beginner or seasoned weaver. Working on simple looms made of re-purposed materials (or bring your own), Lucy will cover weaving basics, how to create texture, how to complete and remove your weaving ---- but she will also explore how to re-purpose everyday and reclaimed materials into beautiful yarn and unusual textures.
No experience is necessary for this 2 hour workshop...
Included: printed instructions, materials to make your own yarn, simple frame loom made with repurposed materials
Cost: 50 dollars
Time January 30th from 3-5pm
Location: Moonrise Studio- 1284 Gladstone Ave. ( brick building across from Belfry, back parking lot, beside Neat and Tidy)
